How to Say “Yes” to Forbidden Foods without All the Guilt

Does this sound like you?

After a meal, you feel bloated to the point you have to unbutton the top button of your pants.

You avoid certain kinds of foods like the plague.

You’re scared to death you’ll have an embarrassing gas attack in front of your friends or coworkers.

You frequently have irregular bowels and may struggle with constipation.

If you said yes, you have plenty of company.  Gastric problems, especially bloating, affects up to 30% of adults.  Not only are digestion issues uncomfortable, they can even dictate your social life.  You tend to avoid going out with friends because you know chances are whatever you choose from the menu is likely to give you problems later on.

A high price to pay for a finicky digestive tract.

The good news is you can take care of your uncomfortable and embarrassing digestive problems – and even improve your health in the process.

The symptoms you’re experiencing likely stem from your body’s inability to break down and absorb the nutrients in food as it should.  But as difficult as these symptoms are to deal with, there could be more serious problems on the horizon.

Our great, great grandparents knew all along that a healthy digestive system is essential to overall good health.  That could be why a lot of ills were treated with a good dose of castor oil.  But we now know that digestion provides nourishment for every cell in you body.

If your stomach and other digestive organs aren’t working at peak efficiency then you can eat healthy foods day in and day out and not receive the nutritional value you think you’re getting.  That affects all of your organs, not just the digestive ones. And while you may have upped your fiber, water, and vegetable intake to help things along, a sluggish digestive system often needs something more.

Digestive enzymes to the rescue.

Digestive enzymes – lipase, proteases, and amylase – break down fats, proteins, and carbohydrates respectively.  While your body produces these enzymes naturally, for different reasons they often become depleted. Improper chewing, an unbalanced diet, food additives, and simply getting older can contribute to this.

When depletion occurs, your digestion suffers and so sends out warning signals in the way of bloating, gas, and indigestion. Even when you take steps to correct some of the causes, you may still need more help.

Enzyme supplements often do the trick. Taking an enzyme supplement with your meals relieves the strain on your digestive system and get your organs functioning as they should.  Quality supplements contain all three digestive enzymes and make digestion an easy process.  Just like your breathing, you shouldn’t have to think about how your food is being digested – you should be able to just eat and enjoy.

Chances are enzyme supplements will make a world of difference in what you can or cannot eat.  You’ll finally be able to say, “yes” to once forbidden foods and enjoy one of life’s simple pleasures – sitting down to a tasty meal with friends and family.
