Now that the fall season is here, government health officials are pumped up to broadcast massive awareness campaigns persuading more Americans to get the flu vaccine. You probably remember last year's debacle with the H1N1 swine flu pandemic. Long lines to get the vaccine, then running out of vaccine; not to mention the near hysteria magnified by the media.
So, to avoid a repeat of last year, the government plans to dump nearly $2 billion into research and biotechnology so that the 6-9 month time frame usually required to produce the vaccine can be shortened.
Way to go government. Of all the critical areas that could really use $2 billion right now, putting flu vaccine on the fast track to market could possibly be one of the most wasteful spending ideas yet. The truth is the flu vaccine has consistently proven itself ineffective. Not only that, each year cases of serious side effects is reported. Side effects that are totally unnecessary.
But once again, the government is firmly united with vaccine manufacturers and will have their back again this year. The CDC is urging every American over six months old to get the vaccine unless they are allergic to eggs or have other risks. That means everyone - man, woman, and child - is expected to be injected with this year's vaccine that actually contains three strains of flu – H1N1 (swine flu), H3N2, and influenza B.
What you need to know about flu vaccines. It's interesting to note that Australia has banned the flu vaccine for children under five because of adverse side effects. Sweden and Finland have also sounded the alarm. Why? Children in this age group have shown negative reactions such as high fever, vomiting, convulsions, and in some cases the sleeping disorder narcolepsy after vaccinations.
The U.S. knows better, too.A special government committee investigated last year's H1N1and found three signs of trouble. One was Guillain-Barr syndrome, which has been associated with the vaccine since 1976. Bell's palsy, or facial paralysis, was another red flag. And the third was a sign of thrombocytopenia, a blood disorder. And while this committee does say they don't know if these were actual danger signals, they did acknowledge that they were red flags.
Instead of pumping $2 million into a three in one flu shot and getting it out to the public lickety-split, wouldn't it make more sense to use that money to test further for safety? I mean, the government already says the red flags are there. Yet they're moving full steam ahead with their plans. It’s mind-boggling.
Anytime you get a flu shot you’re putting yourself at risk. And while you may feel the benefit is worth the risk, it’s a perceived benefit. Big Pharma is hoping you’ll believe the flu vaccine will protect you, but the evidence speaks for itself. The flu vaccine does not work in the elderly (a strongly targeted group) and the data is pretty insubstantial when it comes to other age groups.
What is an undeniable fact is vaccines contain toxic substances. If the actual flue virus itself doesn’t get you, then the mercury, antifreeze, formaldehyde, antibiotics, and other toxins in the mix very well could.
What you need to do to avoid the flu in the first place. The first thing is to think twice before you fall for this government deception. Follow the money trail – there are big profits to be had from vaccines. The second thing is to educate yourself about a far safer and more effective alternative. The latest studies show that optimizing your vitamin D levels will provide a powerful preventative measure against the flu.
Especially as the winter months approach and provide less sunlight, making sure you have plenty of vitamin D is critical, not only to guard against the flu, but a whole host of other conditions as well. This is such an easy step to take and has absolutely no ill side effects. Unlike the flu vaccine, which could possibly put you in worse shape than a bout with the flu.
