I've always been told, the best treatment for colds is a proper diet. Since I am a person who fasts twice a year, I know the benefits this practice provides! nnMy sources tell me to treat a cold naturally, put the patient on a fast for two days. Nothing should be taken during this period except warm water mixed with lemon juice and honey or fruit juice and hot water. (A liquid diet of fruit juice in large amounts is necessary to neutralize the acid condition of the blood and hot drinks are needed to help clear the kidneys.) Pineapple juice happens to be highly beneficial.nnThe short juice fast should be followed by an exclusive fresh fruit diet for three days. Bananas, dried or stewed or tinned fruits, should not be taken. No other foodstuff should be added to the diet as otherwise the whole value of the treatment is lost. The cold sufferer should avoid meat, fish, eggs, cheese and starchy foods for a few days until you feel better. Usually after 2-3 days you will feel better.
